The Royal Cheshire County Show in focus
In 2015, Bella Design and Marketing (BDM) was successfully appointed as the Royal Cheshire County Show’s marketing and creative agency, covering all areas from PR, Social Media, to web/digital and design for the annual show.
As part of Bella’s comprehensive social media management for the Show, Facebook adverts were deployed to extend the message reach.
Through highly targeted adverts, the show saw a significant upturn in reach and engagement which, coupled with tailored content and updates, led to an increase of 5000 site visitors to the website from Facebook.
Adverts reached over 61,000 Facebook users with over 3500 taking action as a direct result. Budget was tightly controlled resulting in a cost per 100 users of around 50p.
Facebook page likes increased from 13,000 to over 15,000 in the months preceding the show with active engagement reaching 117,729.
Utilising solid industry connections BDM has affected a significant upturn in media coverage, both on and offline.
30 engaging stories were written and disseminated to specialist agricultural, consumer and business press throughout the 2017 campaign.
Through nurturing of key media relationships – the BDM PR team gained unprecedented levels of coverage for this year’s show with 83 articles published. 3 radio stations and 2 TV channels broadcast live from the show-ground to prime time audiences across the region.
“I would like to express my pleasure at your management of the show PR, absolutely amazing and so very professional.”
Nigel Evans – Executive Director of the Royal Cheshire County Show
Following detailed research to establish the Show’s target audience, BDM negotiated preferential advertising rates across a wide range of print publications and digital media resulting in 90 strategic adverts being placed. From local specialist agricultural magazines to large format outdoor billboards, ensuring extensive coverage across the region.
57 print and web advertisements
13 large format outdoor advertisements

Commissioned by the Cheshire Agricultural Society to act as a hub for exhibitors, sponsors and Principal partners, as well as the thousands of visitors the show attracts each year, it was important the site was clear, navigable and discoverable.
The website is a fully bespoke design, allowing the visuals to communicate the personality of this much-loved show. It is fully responsive for all devices including desktop, table and mobile and incorporates a comprehensive, easy to use content management system to enable simple in-house changes and updates to be made.
Day 1 of the event saw 15,924 website sessions, compared to 13,639 for the same period in 2016.
