Bella Design & Marketing strengthens portfolio with dual-language website service

A new dual-language offering by Bella Design & Marketing could assist UK-based businesses to strengthen their ties in existing markets around the globe and at home.

Our Cheshire-based design agency is pleased to offer a new service in dual-language websites to meet the growing need by business and service providers to communicate effectively in languages other than English.

“It has become increasingly important, particularly in the online space, for businesses to communicate in the preferred language of new and existing clients who are located abroad,” Tessa Blakemore, Bella Design & Marketing Account Director said.

“If a company communicates primarily in English, the commissioning of a dual-language website is a solid demonstration of their commitment to the market or markets they operate in overseas.

“It also allows complete control over how information about products and services is delivered in the local language as it is often the case that free, online translation services are poor at holistic communication.

“Dual-language websites are also beneficial to assist UK service providers, such as local authorities, to speak directly to clients and customers for whom English is not their first language.

“Bella Design & Marketing has the expertise to assist our clients to do business in the local language where they operate and we are pleased to add this service to our portfolio.”

Thai-English language site by Bella Design & Marketing

We recently completed a dual-language website for the Thailand office of global media distributor DMD.

This is the first in a series of local language microsites we have been instructed to develop for DMD, the world’s leading distributor of newspapers, magazines and digital publications to airlines and international rail operators.

“As well as the language differentiator, we used imagery and messaging that is also tailored to the service offering and cultural references of the local market,” Tessa said.

“We commissioned the services of an ISO 9001-certified Thai translator who worked closely with our design team to ensure the presentation of the Thai text is both accurate and coherent.”

The final product,, asks visitors to make a language choice via a flag selector, allowing them to view it in its entirety in either Thai or English.

DMD Managing Director Paul Rayson said of the project: “It’s among Thai publishers that we see the new site adding most significant value.

“The airline industry is international, almost by definition, and English has long been its common language.

“But the Thai publishing sector – again pretty much by definition – does business largely in its native tongue, and our aim is that a Thai language site will reach out to parts of the market we might have only limited engagement with.

“It helps too that we already have a lively operation in Bangkok, ready to distribute high-quality Thai titles to our global customer base.”
