Social Media Workshop by Bella Design & Marketing

Do you know your hashtags from your Twitter handles, or your Snapchat from your Instagram? We cannot ignore the importance of social media within the marketing mix.  To help businesses large and small across Knutsford, Bella Design & Marketing ran a social media workshop in association with Knutsford Town Council. The workshop focus was to help local business owners and decision makers kick-start or enhance their social media campaigns in order to better promote their products and services.

Topics covered included the key social media platforms, creating a coherent content strategy and measuring the effectiveness of a campaign. The workshop was created to be suitable for all users; from novices to more experienced social media users.

Feedback from attendees was extremely positive and confirmed that the workshop was useful to all: ‘A helpful, informative and thought-provoking workshop, that really reinforced to us as a business the value of social media and its uses. It was so helpful to get a concise look at each social media platform and how each of these channels can be best used to promote a business successfully.’- Clara, Technotype.

Key takeaways from the workshop included:

  • Don’t try managing too many channels at once; pick one channel and become conversant in it’s its use before moving on to another one
  • Followers should not be an objective of your social media marketing. The main objective should be creating unique, engaging, shareable content.
  • Pick a channel that is most suited to your audience
  • Establish your brand tone of voice and ensure this is consistent across all channels
  • Practice makes perfect; don’t be downhearted if everything doesn’t go as planned straight away
  • Never underestimate the power of social media!
