Wolstenholme Square – LTL

New marketing campaign for Wolstenholme Square in Liverpool.

Work has recently been completed on the creation of a marketing campaign for Wolstenholme Square in Liverpool. The work included a new brand identity for Wolstenholme Square, promotional window vinyls wrapping around the whole development and digital marketing brochure.

Wolstenholme Square is located in the heart of Liverpool city centre in the Ropewalks District and is home to the landmark sculpture, Penelope, designed by Jorge Pardo.

Tasked with developing a bold, vibrant, and impactful brand, we drew initial inspiration from the sculpture as it is such a prominent feature of Wolstenholme Square. Given the length of the name, it was important to create a flexible yet distinctive logo that could adjust to work across a range of formats whilst remaining easily recognisable.

The combination of bold sans serif text alongside easily adjusted rectangles allowed for multiple orientations of the logo mark to be created. The choice of a black mono logo allowed us to incorporate a variety of vivid background colours which fit with the vibrant theme.

The home of the former super club Cream has been redeveloped to create 450 high quality residential apartments, comprising 5 blocks that wrap around 3 sides of the square.

The square already has established bars and entertainment venues including PINS, Stonecutters and Seven Bro7hers, along with many nearby well-known bars & restaurants such as Wreckfish, Alma de Cuba, The Shipping Forecast, Duke Street Food & Drink Market and The Red Lion.

To complement the logo, we designed playful and energetic illustrations that capture the dynamic feel of the area and align with the target audience the building development sought to attract. The use of these illustrations on the window vinyls not only showcased the location to prospective tenants but also helped to shape a fresh public perception of Wolstenholme Square—offering a glimpse of the exciting future to come.
